Feb. 17, 2015 -  Proposed Lake Michigan National Marine Sanctuary in Wisconsin Added to NOAA Inventory for Future Designation Consideration - The Cities of Port Washington, Sheboygan, Manitowoc, and Two Rivers jointly announced today their Regional Nomination for a National Marine Sanctuary, submitted by Governor Walker on behalf of the citizens of Wisconsin, has been officially added by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) to the inventory of areas under consideration for future Sanctuary designations.
Jan. 22, 2015 -  Developer plans 73 houses, vineyard, preserve - Illinois firm’s proposal gets conceptual OK from Plan Commission, rave reviews from aldermen who like unique design, idea of county-owned nature area along bluff

Plans for 73 home sites, a 100-acre nature conservancy, a vineyard and winery on the former VK Development property on Port Washington’s south side were approved by the city’s Plan Commission last week.
Oct. 1, 2014 -  City may be in the market for a lighthouse - Port Common Council to consider acquiring, maintaining landmark navigational aid when U.S. Coast Guard declares it excess property.
Aug. 11, 2014 -  City of Port Washington Awarded $500,000 Recreational Boating Fund Grant for Breakwater Repair Work - The City of Port Washington announced today it had been awarded a $500,000 Recreational Boating Fund Grant late last week for repair work on the north breakwater. The grant award was approved at the Wisconsin Waterways Commission meeting in Hayward.
