The Port Exploreum has earned accolades from the Wisconsin Historical Society for its current exhibit, “Nothin’ But Nets: The Legacy of Commercial Fishing in Port Washington.”
Apr. 20, 2016 -  Breakwater partnership pays off - Army Corps, city officials praise collaboration as ‘model program’ for upgrading Great Lakes harbors

The partnership between the City of Port Washington and the Army Corps of Engineers in rehabilitating the north breakwater is a model for the future, Lt. Col. Mike Sellers said last week as a crew preparing to begin the most recent phase of construction set up in the harbor.

Nov. 18, 2015 -  NOAA heads to Port to get input on sanctuary - Officials from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will be in Port Washington on Wednesday, Nov. 18, to hear what residents think about a proposed marine sanctuary that would stretch from the city north to Two Rivers.
Nov. 4, 2015 -  City wants public input on lighthouse - Port Washington officials are hoping for help from the public in putting together an application to acquire its iconic lighthouse from the federal government.
Oct. 5, 2015 -  President Obama, NOAA Announce Advancement of Proposed Lake Michigan National Marine Sanctuary Designation in Wisconsin - The Cities of Port Washington, Sheboygan, Manitowoc, and Two Rivers jointly announced today that the regional nomination for a National Marine Sanctuary, submitted by Governor Scott Walker on behalf of the citizens of Wisconsin, has been officially selected by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) to begin the sanctuary designation process.
June 2, 2015 -  City of Port Washington, Discovery World finalize Summer 2015 partnership for S/V Denis Sullivan visits to city harbor - The City of Port Washington and Discovery World Science & Technology Center have finalized an agreement which ensures the S/V Denis Sullivan tall ship will be spending some weekend days in the city’s harbor – the only in Ozaukee County – this summer.
