Port Washington Tourism
Your initial view of this historic city will captivate you, as you come down the hill toward Lake Michigan. The downtown is lake level, adjacent to the marina, with the largest collection of pre-Civil War buildings in the state.

Port Washington is a town that you can walk, and there are several self-guided walking tours available. Click here to download a map that will take you past a shipwreck exhibit, fishing memorials, lighthouses, fun specialty shops and boutiques, and our great restaurants, all while learning some of our history. Intrigued about the stories behind our lighthouses? Click here to learn more.

Going fishing? Drop a line, or hire a charter captain. Are you a boater? Launch from our acclaimed, certified Clean Marina. Paddlers can check out the kayak/canoe launch at our South Beach. Love to bike? Hop on the Interurban Trail. You can head inland and hit the greens. We have great golf courses in the area. Hiking and birding are your hobbies? Try our great natural areas and trails. Or, if you prefer, keep a bench warm or lie on the sandy beach, and just look at the lake. Spend the night, to be able to see & experience all that we have to offer!

Let us help you plan the perfect visit. Our "Eat, Shop, Play" directory showcases our offerings, and our "Lodging" directory lists our hotels, bed and breakfasts, motels, and campgrounds. Our calendar of events keeps you updated on the upcoming festivals, and activities. We invite you to subscribe to our news feed, and our Facebook page to stay up to the minute on all that's happening. And if you are interested in learning more about our history, including the walking tours, please visit our Links of Interest page under the Resources tab.

Once you are here, please stop by the Pebble House Visitor Center if you would like further information. We can't wait to see you come into Port!
